It is a habit of many golfers to either slice
or hook their golf balls after the balls come off of their clubs.
It’s not like any golfer wants this happen, but it happens
often anyway.
There are a few things you can do to help your shot go straight
down the fairway instead of straight into the bunker.
One of the easiest things you can do is try to figure out how
much of a slice or a hook you have when you hit golf balls and
then turn your body accordingly. For example, if you know all
your shots tend to slice toward the right after they leave your
club, you may want to simply turn your body more to the left.
Although it may look like you are going to hit the ball onto
a different fairway, it is more than likely that soon after the
ball leaves your club, it will slice and hopefully land in the
middle of the fairway of the hole on which you are playing.
This is really only a quick fix to the main problem. If you want
to truly improve your shot, you simply have to practice. But all
of the practice in the world does not matter if you are not practicing
the right form.
You can help yourself by hiring a golf instructor to meet you
at the driving range and help you work on your shot. By getting
a professional to give you the right kind of advice, you will
be more likely to learn the correct form and lose less golf balls
in the process.
